Juventus suffered a shock 4-1 loss away to Empoli after their points deduction in Serie A was reinstated.
Earlier in the evening, Allegri’s side had their 10-point deduction reinstated following a verdict handed down by the Italian Federal Court of Appeal.
And they got off to a poor start as veteran striker Francesco Caputo put Empoli ahead from the penalty spot after 18 minutes.
Sebastiano Luperto doubled the hosts’ lead three minutes later before Caputo got his second of the night 47 minutes in.
Chiesa got Juventus on the scoresheet with a thumping strike in the 85th minute but it proved to be just a consolation as Roberto Piccoli added a fourth for Empoli.
