England finished their Autumn international series with a defeat to South Africa in a repeat of the World Cup final at Twickenham on Saturday.

England started slow again and their visitors led 11-3 after just over half and hour when Kurt-Lee Arendse scored the first try of the game as Eddie Jones’ side struggled to get a hold of proceedings.

Eben Etzebeth added to the visitors’ tally in the second half as the hosts struggled, before Thomas du Toit was shown a red card with 20 minutes to go.

Henry Slade went over for England to give the hosts hope, but it was too little, too late for the team that have now suffered an annual return of five wins, a draw and six defeats from 12 Tests.
