The 2024 Euro group-stage has come and gone, with the round-of-16 action set to get underway this Saturday.

England have managed to go through as Group C winners despite a series of underwhelming performances in all three of their group games.

Gareth Southgate’s men have failing to convince the nation that football will be coming home this summer after registering an unconvincing 1-0 win against Serbia in their tournament opener before going on to partake in two stalemate draws against Denmark and Slovenia respectively.

Despite only finishing on five points, it was enough to see them top the group because the other group games also ended in draws.

Southgate’s men will need to see a massive improvement in their performances if they are to live up to their pre-tournament hype and label as one of the tournament favourites.
