England’s World Cup final clash with Spain was disrupted when a pitch invader managed to get onto the field at the Stadium Australia.

With the game goalless in the first-half, an individual ran onto the pitch during play forcing a break in the action while England prepared to take a free kick.

The pitch invader took to the field wearing a mask and a shirt appearing to depict Russian President Vladimir Putin before stewards wearing football boots tackled them to the ground and removed them from the pitch.

The individual was quickly apprehended by stewards and removed from the pitch
