Entourage star Jeremy Piven issues warning about his comedy show ahead of Australian tour

Entourage star Jeremy Piven has revealed that his iconic character, Ari Gold, will make an appearance during his live stand-up comedy shows in Australia.

In an interview with the Herald Sun, the actor, 58, confessed that part of him is always playing the notorious agent character.

‘What’s interesting, when people say to me it must be a lot of pressure doing stand up when they already have a reference for you as this character,’ he told the publication.

‘I weave in Ari Gold into the show organically because I talk about the fact I ran all of those lines through my mother. Everything I said was to her face and she never flinched. Then I literally go into one of the most offensive rants and I act out me and my mum and it’s just so fun.’

‘It’s humour and impressions and Aussies pride themselves on their sense of humour,’ he added.

The actor shared that he feels most at home on the stage.

‘For me, I’ve been on stage since I was eight years-old, I’ve been doing sketch comedy and stand up and theatre and it’s my home’.

Piven is currently Down Under for his new live comedy show and will take to the stage in Melbourne on April 2 and Sydney on April 4.

He is also in Australia to star in a thriller film called Numbered Lives.

The American actor and comedian recently made an appearance at the F1 Grand Prix in Melbourne.

It comes after Piven recently detailed his hilarious and awkward first meeting with Academy Award winner Russell Crowe.

The American funnyman revealed exactly what happened when he first met the Gladiator star, 59, at a glitzy Hollywood party.

Speaking on Thursday’s The Kyle and Jackie O Show, Jeremy candidly admitted that he was very ‘intimidated’ by Australian-based actor Russell when they first met.

‘I was at a Hollywood party, and I had one interaction with Russell, and you know he’s a very intimidating figure,’ he explained.

Jeremy admitted that things went from bad to worse when he couldn’t understand Russell’s accent.

After being confused by what he was saying, Jeremy eventually worked out that Russell was expressing a desire to work with him.

‘As it turns out, he had seen me in a film called Very Bad Things, which is just a beautiful, tragic, amazing, dark comedy,’ he went on.

According to Jeremy, Russell then asked him whether they could work together, to which he quipped: ‘I go: “I’m in wardrobe right now!”‘
