A hunter was videoed perching on the ground with a gun as he listened to the terrifying sound of a mountain lion in Oregon.
The video, which has spawned more than 500,000 views, shows the man wearing a camouflage top as he whispers to the camera: ‘mountain lion.’
In the background you can hear the petrifying screams of the lion, which lasts for almost a whole minute.
The video generated a lot of comments from YouTube users with one person writing: ‘The time to worry is when you STOP hearing the sounds.’
Another person joked: ‘That’s not a mountain lion, pretty sure it’s my wife,’ while another says: ‘Nope nope nope nope not doing it nope not today satan nope nope nope.’
One person wrote: ‘This, and also waking up in the night to a chorus of coyotes yipping and howling will make your blood run cold.’
Today mountain lions are primarily found in 14 western states with a small endangered population in Florida, the particular specie found there is called the Florida panther.

They are critically endangered with a population of less than 100 individuals however.
