Tottenham stalwart Eric Dier’s future under Ange Postecoglou is looking bleak, with the defender left out of the squad to face Fulham in the EFL Cup on Tuesday night.

Mail Sport exclusively revealed on Tuesday night that the player was set to sit out his side’s midweek action, with the Australian boss omitting the England international from Tottenham’s matchday squad.

Dier hasn’t featured in a single one of Postecoglou’s opening four match-day squads during Spurs’ unbeaten start to the season.

There had been hope that Dier would feature at Craven Cottage on Tuesday night given where the EFL Cup stands in Tottenham’s priorities.

The development comes amid tentative interest from Bayern Munich in Dier.

Since joining Tottenham in 2014 Dier has made 361 appearances for the club.

As well as Dier, Tottenham are also looking to move on Sergio Reguilon, Davinson Sanchez and Giovani Lo Celso before the transfer window closes.

Paris Saint-Germain could also reignite their interest in Tanguy Ndombele, who has had loan spells at Napoli and Lyon.
