Free agent point guard Eric Gordon has agreed to a deal with the Phoenix Suns, according to reports from Shams Charania.
The 34-year-old was waived by the Los Angeles Clippers back on June 28 as opposed to guaranteeing his contract.
If they kept him around, Gordon would have been owed over $20m, according to Spotrac.
Last season, Gordon averaged 12.4 points, 2.7 assists, and just under two rebounds across 69 games in Los Angeles and with the Houston Rockets.
Gordon reportedly turned town offers from other teams and was considering a reunion in Houston as well as a move to Golden State before settling on Phoenix.

Gordon joins a Suns team with a Big Three of Bradley Beal, Kevin Durant, and Devin Booker
Gordon took some time to consider joining other teams – including returning to Houston
The former seventh overall pick out of Indiana University has won the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year award in the past and was part of the All-Rookie second team in 2007.
He arrives in Phoenix at an exciting time as the team gets ready to try and make a run to the NBA Finals with a new core group.
Last month, the Suns traded for Bradley Beal – getting the former Wizards shooting guard as a compliment to point guard Devin Booker and forward Kevin Durant.
It sets Phoenix up with a new ‘Big Three’ of Beal, Booker, and Durant as well as the talented Deandre Ayton.
Gordon would likely compete with Cameron Payne for playing time as a backup to Booker.
