Erin Molan gets emotional as she reflects on raising baby Eliza

‘I would hate for her to grow up feeling like she’s not good enough or pretty enough’: Erin Molan gets emotional as she reflects on raising her baby Eliza after her own struggle with trolls

She recently said motherhood is ‘really bloody hard’, following the birth of her first child last year.

And Erin Molan, 34, became teary-eyed after a thought-provoking question from Jesinta Franklin (née Campbell) at the Mercedes-Benz Sydney Women in Business Luncheon on Wednesday.

The Sunday Footy Show host was asked what advice she would give to her 15-year-old self, which prompted an emotional response according to The Daily Telegraph.

‘I would tell 15-year-old me … just believe in yourself,’ she said.

‘It sounds like a cliche but it’s because of my daughter.

‘I would hate for her to grow up feeling like she’s not good enough or pretty enough or dresses well enough or those things that I always felt.’

At one point she recalled her own personal struggle with online trolls.

‘I remember my first time on the Thursday Night Footy Show, it would have been eight or nine years ago and I got off the air bloody excited. I was like, ‘I bloody nailed that injury list, I was next level amazing!”’ she said.

‘And I got up there on Twitter and someone had said: ‘You’ve got a face for radio!”’

It comes after Erin described being a mum to her one-year-old daughter, Eliza, as a ‘tough gig’.

The Channel Nine presenter gave birth to baby Eliza, who she shares with her police officer fiance Sean Ogilvy, in June last year.

‘It is the most amazing thing in the entire world times a billion but it is also really bloody hard, that is just the reality of it,’ she told the Telegraph.

‘It is a constant juggle trying to get the balance right and failing a lot of the time. I just figure I love her more than life itself and for the moment, that is enough.’

”I just think you are allowed to be really grateful and you are allowed to acknowledge that you are so blessed but you are also allowed to find it tough because it is a really tough gig.’

Erin said she and Sean are undecided on whether they will have more children.

Erin made headlines last year when she returned to work just six weeks after giving birth.
