Ethel Cain: Sydney Opera House Vivid headliner collapses onstage while performing

Chaos at Sydney Opera House as US singer collapses on stage at sold-out Vivid show – forcing organisers to cancel the concert

Vivid headliner Ethel Cain left fans concerned on Saturday after she collapsed on stage during her live show at the Sydney Opera House.

The Florida native, 25, was just three songs into her set when she fainted, prompting the stage crew to run on-stage to see if she was alright.

Ethel was in the middle of performing her song A House in Nebraska when it happened, and the health scare led to the remainder of the concert being cancelled.

Fortunately, the crew helped Cain rise to her feet and led her off-stage, before telling thousands of disappointed fans the show was over.

The indie pop star has not publicly commented on the incident and it is currently unclear whether she will be performing her second scheduled Vivid show on Sunday evening.

‘Hoping she feels better soon,’ one fan tweeted and another added: ‘She looks exhausted’.

Footage of the incident was initially circulated on social media but quickly taken down after fans said it was ‘insensitive’ to share it.
