England’s victorious players have taken to social media to share their delight after they secured their spot in the Euro 2020 final this weekend with a nail-biting extra-time victory over Denmark.
Harry Kane was the hero for the Three Lions once again, having netted the winner after his penalty was initially saved, and the result sparked wild scenes of jubilation at Wembley and across the country.
With the sounds of ‘Sweet Caroline’ and ‘It’s Coming Home’ uniting the team and the supporters, the feeling of ecstasy was clear for all to see – and now the stars that made it all possible have expressed their gratitude.

Captain Kane led the celebrations, and he penned a short message on Twitter. It read: ‘Wow what a night! Unbelievable performance and we’re into a Euros final!!! Wembley was incredible!!’
Raheem Sterling, who starred once again to help England edge out the Danes, said: ‘Final bound… Come on England!!!’
His fellow winger Bukayo Saka was restored to the line-up after returning from injury, and he laid on the crucial assist that forced Simon Kjaer to stab into his own net for the equaliser just before half-time.

‘What a team!’ he wrote, and accompanied his tweet with an array of eye-catching celebration photos. ‘One step closer.’
Midfielder Kalvin Phillips, meanwhile, said: ‘WE’RE IN THE FINAL. Team were immense today what a night and what support from our amazing fans! See you Sunday.’
Declan Rice, his ever-present partner at the heart of the engine room, added: ‘Proud to be apart (sic) of this team. One more push. We will give it everything.’
‘Proud to be part of this team,’ Luke Shaw said, similarly to Rice. ‘One final push! See you all Sunday.’
Harry Maguire described the moment as the ‘stuff dreams are made of’, and added: ‘One more game to go.’
Jordan Pickford delivered another steady showing, aside from conceding Mikkel Damsgaard’s thunderbolt free-kick, and he also posted to share his reaction.
‘So proud to be part of this team!’ he wrote on Instagram. ‘Good times never seemed so good!’
Kyle Walker, also apparently in disbelief, tweeted: ‘WE ARE IN THE FINAL!!! Brilliant by the boys showing fantastic character from 1-0 down. You fans were incredible singing the whole game. Bring on Sunday.’
The party for many is sure to stretch on with England now in their first final for 55 years, but Marcus Rashford’s thoughts soon after full-time were with a valiant Denmark, who fought hard in defeat.
Their run at the tournament is a remarkable achievement, and comes soon off the back of their talisman Christian Eriksen suffering a cardiac arrest – and needing to be brought back to life – during their clash with Finland.
‘I’m not sure how I would have reacted to seeing my teammate in such difficulty,’ Rashford said, paying tribute.
‘You captured everyone’s heart and I’m sure @ChrisEriksen8 is extremely proud of what you have achieved. Heads held high. Im (sic) sure we’ll see you soon.’
