Events planner, 53, reveals her tips for staying youthful

Rhea Elliott-Jones lives in Hertfordshire with her husband. She is an events planner and has run her own business for 15 years.

ULTIMATE DETOX

Rhea Elliott-Jones (pictured), 53, notes a balanced diet and a PDO Thread Lift as key attributes of her youthful appearance

It is my belief that you are what you eat — and you look like what you eat. I follow a healthy, balanced diet but also get an IV Vitamin Drip treatment at HB Health (hbhealth.com) to cleanse and detoxify my system every fortnight.

My favourite is the Anti-Ageing Infusion (£65 each), which contains glutathione and vitamin D. It has really increased my energy and even helped to smooth my wrinkles.

WINTER SKIN SAVIOUR

Dry skin runs in my family — and gets worse in cold weather. So, in winter, I bathe for 30 minutes, weekly, in Oilatum Bath Formula for Dry Skin (£8.99, Boots).

I then rub Eucerin Dry Skin Intensive Lotion (£13.50, Boots) all over — and if I need an extra fix, also apply it like a face mask, which I leave on overnight. When I wake up, my skin is super hydrated.

GET PERFECT PINS

My legs still look young. I put this down to trampolining, which I started four years ago and do every morning for half an hour.

It is the best workout for fiftysomethings: it tones your legs, trims the waist and helps with posture — all without putting pressure on joints. Plus, it is portable. I take my mini trampoline on holiday with me, in the car, twice a year.

TRY A THREAD LIFT

I’ve had bad experiences with Botox and fillers — I hated the frozen look. But when I turned 50, I wanted a confidence boost.

A friend suggested a PDO Thread Lift, so I thought, ‘Why not?’ The treatment uses organic threads to stimulate collagen long- term. I had it done on my jaw and neck. I’m so happy with the results, which look deceptively natural.

CUSTOMISE SLEEVES

She also says customising her clothing gives her the freedom to find an outfit that shapes her perfectly whilst hiding areas that sag

I love to customise clothes. A longer sleeve is especially useful to hide the skin on my arms, which sags, no matter how much exercise I do.

So, if I find a perfectly shaped dress, but the sleeves aren’t right, I will not hesitate to remove and replace them — even if it’s by Amanda Wakeley.
