Southampton booked their place in the Carabao Cup fourth round with a win over Everton via a penalty shootout following a 1-1 draw.
Abdoulaye Doucoure gave the Toffees the lead with a close-range header after the visitors had failed to clear their lines from a corner after 20 minutes.
Taylor Harwood-Bellis levelled the scoring 12 minutes later with header of his own from a free-kick.
Both sides scored their opening five penalties in the shootout before Ashley Young struck to post to condemn Everton to another defeat.
