Everton are reportedly ready to make an attempt to sign a player who spent five seasons at Manchester United.

The Toffees are looking to push on after an encouraging campaign in which they finished 13th in the Premier League, never under any threat of relegation.

They will be moving into their new Hill Dickinson Stadium and a familiar Premier League face could be a part of their midfield.

According to Sozcu Spor, Everton are showing an interest in signing Fenerbahce star Fred this summer.

The Turkish outfit are said to be willing to let him leave, should an offer £15m be put on the table.

Fred spent five years at Old Trafford but never managed to live up to his £47m price tag.

He contributed 14 goals and 19 assists in 213 matches before departing for Turkey in 2023.

The Brazilian, now under the management of Jose Mourinho, has since managed eight goals and 16 assists in 80 games. His current contract expires in 2027.

Everton are prepared to back David Moyes this summer and it is believed that he has made Fred a priority signing.

Meanwhile, Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin looks increasingly likely to leave the club after failing to agree on a new contract.

The 28-year old is a free agent and is interested in a move to Italy though will consider all options.

Everton revealed on Monday that they had offered new contracts to Seamus Coleman and Idrissa Gueye and were continuing ‘to liaise with representatives’ of both Cavert-Lewin and Michael Keane. But talks with the striker appear to have broken down.
