Sporting Lisbon striker Youssef Chermiti moved to Goodison Park for a fee of £15million last week, making his debut in Saturday’s 1-0 home defeat to Wolves.

Beto scored 10 goals for Udinese in Serie A last season, and at 6ft 4in he will provide a physical presence for Dyche to rely on.

His arrival is all the more welcome given Dominic Calvert-Lewin is unavailable after suffering a facial injury in the 4-0 defeat at Aston Villa.

Demarai Gray’s proposed move from Everton to Al Shabab is in the balance.

A deal had been agreed and the player has his visa, however, changes at boardroom level at Al Shabab on Sunday have jeopardised the transfer.

Another Saudi club is interested.
