Ex-NFL star leads calls for Tua Tagovailoa to RETIRE after suffering a shocking third concussion on the field

Tua Tagovailoa is being advised to retire early by personalities in and around the NFL after suffering yet another concussion two games into the 2024 season.

On Thursday, the 26-year-old got concussed for the third time in his NFL career after colliding with Damar Hamlin in the third quarter of the Dolphins’ 31-10 loss to Buffalo.

After Tagovailoa was escorted out of the game, former NFL star Dez Bryant led the charge of calls for his retirement on social media.

‘That’s it,’ Bryant wrote. ‘NFL go ahead and do the right thing. Tua has had entirely way too many concussions. He need to retire for his longevity health concerns.’

NFL legend Shannon Sharpe echoed Bryant’s sentiments, saying: ‘Really hope Tua is ok, but he’s gotta seriously think about shutting it dwn. I H8 saying this. His concussions are getting worse and worse and he’s a young man with his entire life ahead of him.’

NFL personalities are calling for Tua Tagovailoa to retire after suffering his third concussion

FS1 analyst Nick Wright chimed in, writing: ‘Tua gets 93M no questions asked and probably 167M if he has to retire due to injury.’

‘He fought back from absolutely horrifying concussions to lead the league in passing and earn that contract from the Dolphins,’ Wright continued. ‘He has to really consider hanging it up after tonight.’

‘Watching Tua Tagovailoa bury his helmet into Damar Hamlin’s chest was some of the scariest stuff I’ve seen in a long time, and it wasn’t even that big a collision,’ said analyst Ryan Clark. ‘I’m getting old man. Soft as heck.’

Patrick Mahomes tweeted three praying emojis after Tagovailoa was removed from the contest.

The Hawaiian star’s first head injury was a grade 1 concussion that came in September 2022 against the Bengals. In December that year, Tagovailoa suffered a grade 3 concussion that sidelined him for the rest of the season.

With the win, Buffalo emerged victorious in 12 of the last 13 games against Miami. The Bills are now 2-0 this season, while the Dolphins are 1-1.
