The ex-boyfriend of a tattooed female prison escapee has claimed the 24-year-old is hiding out in Queensland after leaving him for her prison pen-pal.
Joseph Milanov told Daily Mail Australia his ex-girlfriend Tegan Simpson has been spotted in the Logan area, south of Brisbane, since she absconded from a Gold Coast prison over a week ago.
Simpson and fellow inmate Abigail Graf, 21, were reported missing on September 10 after they were absent for a routine headcount at a 700-hectare open prison in Numinbah Valley.
Graf, who was in custody for assaulting police, was arrested at a home in Moorina, north of Brisbane about 2.20pm on Monday, but Simpson remains at large.
‘She’s been spotted in Logan going around trying to collect old drug money that people owed her,’ Mr Milanov claimed.

But despite allegedly being close-by, Mr Milanov said he has yet to run into his former girlfriend of eight months because she’s now dating a man she wrote to from prison.
‘She wouldn’t have the guts to see me as the whole time she was locked away she was writing letters to the guy that she cheated on me with,’ he alleged.
Mr Milanov claimed Simpson’s relationship with the other man began when he was in jail and continued when he was released shortly before she was sent to the prison.
Mr Milanov said he doesn’t believe Graf and Simpson knew each other before heading to Numinbah Valley, but revealed the 24-year-old told him she had made friends inside.
‘She did say she made a few friends along the time in there and she was doing so well inside, I don’t know what had gotten to her that much to want to break out,’ he said.
It was reported late last week that Simpson and Graf allegedly picked up a getaway car after absconding.
Queensland Police have not made the make and model of the car public, but are searching the Logan and Gold Coast areas, The Courier Mail reported.

Police say members of the public have been sending in reports of sightings of the escapees, but none have been confirmed in recent days.
Graf is on remand for assaulting police and Simpson was in custody for receiving stolen goods.
Graf has now also been charged with escaping lawful custody and will appear at the Caboolture Magistrates Court on September 19.
They were being held at a 700-hectare open prison in Numinbah Valley, 100km south of Brisbane.
