A pilot appeared in court yesterday charged with the murder of his estranged wife.
Andrew McIntosh, 54, was arrested half an hour after nail technician Patricia, 56, was found with head injuries at their home on Wednesday night.
Yesterday villagers said the pilot had moved out of the house in Knightcote, Warwickshire, around five months ago. Shortly afterwards, the property was put on the market.

A friend of Mrs McIntosh said the victim was a ‘beautiful woman’ who had integrated well into village life since the couple moved there around the time of their marriage three years ago.
She added: ‘Trish ran a nail salon from the house and she built up lots of clients in the area. She was a lovely woman. The village is in shock.’
Another local resident said the couple had often been seen walking their dog in the local lanes after moving to the village from a nearby town.
But he added: ‘Andrew had moved out a few months back because they had decided to separate.’
Police were called to the converted bungalow on the edge of the village at 9.15pm on Wednesday. McIntosh was arrested when his car was stopped in Rugby, 18 miles away, half an hour later.

A For Sale sign was still outside the property yesterday.
A family source said they believed McIntosh had recently been working as a pilot trainer, having previously been in the cockpit himself.
