EXCLUSIVE: Emma Watkins reveals huge news – as she wins her first ARIA Award since leaving The Wiggles

Emma Watkins has made a triumphant return to the spotlight and won her first ARIA Award since her departure from the beloved children’s group, The Wiggles, in 2021.

On Wednesday, the 34-year-old was recognised for her debut album under her character name Emma Memma, marking a significant milestone in her solo career.

‘I feel like I’m in a dream,’ Emma gushed to Daily Mail Australia, reflecting on her achievement. ‘I never imagined that we would be here as Emma Memma.’

The former Yellow Wiggle also dropped several bombshells about her plans for the upcoming year.

‘A tour, a new album, and hopefully a TV series,’ are all in the works, the popular children’s star revealed.

In a candid chat, Emma detailed her plans for taking her shows on the road.

‘We’re just about to tour in New Zealand. But this week, we’re performing at Sydney Zoo. Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Five shows, so come on down,’ she invited fans.

A big national tour is also on the horizon, though details are yet to be released.

As for the future and plans for the year ahead, Emma hinted at a return to reality TV after her very successful stint on The Amazing Race Australia.

Emma took to the stage at Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion to accept the award in an eye-popping orange dress, alongside her husband Oliver Brian.

Her ensemble, a vibrant peach hue, was not just a fashion statement but also a nod to her love for bright colours.

‘I think I might be the brightest person on the carpet,’ she laughed.

‘I tried to pick my favourite shade of orange, which I really like, peach, but it’s a little bit too soft for children, so we wanted to make it really bright.’
