EXCLUSIVE ROYAL HOROSCOPE: ‘Sensitive’ King Charles faces a turbulent year ahead

King Charles III will face huge inner turmoil as the reality of his new life and the pressures of the crown weigh upon him, says a leading astrologer.

Warning of turbulent times ahead, Patrick Arundell tells The Mail’s new Royals section that Charles is driven by generosity, duty and principle.

But that these will come into major conflict with his desire for comfort, routine and privacy as the King attempts to hold the Commonwealth and United Kingdom together and embarks on the mammoth task of reforming the Monarchy.

In the first instalment of an exclusive six-part Windsor horoscope series for The Mail’s new Royals section, Patrick detects ‘mighty contra-energies’ in the new King.

The result, he says, could be an even shorter reign than many expect – perhaps with  William stepping in to replace him.

The King’s sense of duty will compete with his ‘inner turmoil’, he predicts.

Leading astrologer Patrick Arundell has suggested that King Charles could abdicate the throne as early as next summer as the pressures of the crown weigh down on him

King Charles’s astrological charts show he is principled, sensitive man who will face many challenges and some turbulence in his first twelve months as King

Already hit by bereavement Charles must now manage ‘deep commitments, shared resources and legacies, not least to do with the public purse or managing the estate of his late mother.

‘It would be of absolutely no surprise if in the early Summer of 2024, Charles made way for his son William,’ says Patrick.

Charles is currently at loggerheads with his younger brother Prince Andrew after telling the Royal Family to cut down on expenditure and live more carefully.

The Mail on Sunday revealed that Charles has already threatened to slash the substantial living allowance that Andrew once received from the Royal Family and suggested his brother quit the 30-bedroom mansion, Royal Lodge, where he lives with ex-wife Sarah Ferguson.

Nearby Frogmore Cottage with just five bedrooms has been proposed as an alternative – but one that MailOnline understands Prince Andrew has so far been reluctant to contemplate.

The Mail on Sunday also established that the entirety of Queen Elizabeth II’s estate has been passed directly to Charles, ‘monarch to monarch’, thereby avoiding death duties – but leaving nothing to be passed directly to the King’s siblings.

Explaining his conclusions, which are based on astrological birth charts, Patrick writes: ‘Uranus, the planet of surprises, rebellion, higher truths and disruption dominates the 10th public House of Charles’s Chart and faces his Sun on two occasions this year, the 17th of July and on the 8th October 2023, and then again on the 1st May 2024.

‘This, and that his Progressed Midheaven (how he connects to the wider world) is currently in Gemini, will meet his Natal Uranus in a year’s time, suggesting this may be a turbulent reign.

‘This is perhaps due in part to the push for Independence by some countries, perhaps more in his desire to reform the Monarchy itself, or at a more personal level.

‘As these energies peak, a need to be free could become profound.’

A SENSITIVE MAN WITH TURBULENT TIMES TO COME… OUR EXCLUSIVE READING OF KING CHARLES’S STARS

By Patrick Arundell – leading astrologer

The Coronation of King Charles III on 6th May 2023, is a seminal moment for him personally, for the Country, but also for the Anglican Church as he formally becomes its head.

What does King Charles’ Natal Birth Chart tell us, and what does his Progressed Chart, explained in the box below, show?

And what do these charts suggest for how his Reign may unfold?

Charles' deeper astrology shows a need for space (Aquarius) needs to co-exist with another for sense of connection (the 7th House) but Charles is a principled person at heart. Pictured: Charles leaving Westminster after the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth

Astrology explained:

Western Tropical Astrology

Western Tropical Astrology is based on the Four Seasons – sometimes known as the Cardinal Quadrants. These start with the First Point of Aries on the Vernal Equinox – around the 20th or 21st of March of each year. This is followed by Cancer from the Summer Solstice, Libra from the Autumnal Equinox and Capricorn from the Winter Solstice.

The word Zodiac in Latin is Zodiacus (derived from Greek) and means the “cycle or circle of little animals” starting with the Ram for Aries, Bull for Taurus, and so on.

In Western Tropical Astrology the Constellations above are symbolic. This system does not take into account the Precession of the Equinoxes, though there are other astrological techniques that do.

What is a Birth Chart or Event Chart?

This is the exact moment in time when someone is born or an event takes place.

Because the planets are constantly moving, the make-up of a Birth Chart can change very quickly with every passing second and minute.

The Birth or Event Chart reflects the positions of all the planets, not just the Sun, but also crucially, the location in each of the 12 Houses that each planet is located in.

The combination of all these influences is what gives each of us such unique qualities – even if we are born on the same day or year.

What is a Secondary Progressed Chart?

A Progressed Chart is the evolution of the Natal or Birth Chart which for every year of our life, moves the Natal Chart forwards one day.

So, for example, in King Charles case, who is 75, his Progressed Chart reflects where his Natal Chart had evolved to when he was 75 days old.

This is known as the “Day per Year” system and it is remarkably accurate.

The Secondary Progressed Chart (as it is fully known) is how our inner journey is unfolding, and can see changes in our outlook, approach and interests, though the Natal Birth Chart remains hugely influential around our core potential and responses. The moving planets in the Sky known as Transits can influence Key Natal and Progressed Chart positions but the Progressed Chart can also influence the Natal Chart directly too.

Why? Well, a need for space (Aquarius) needs to co-exist with another for sense of connection (the 7th House).

Charles is a principled person at heart, however.

His Ascendant is in the Regal Leo and is very close to his mother’s Moon, another piece of family synchronicity.

Remarkably, Charles also shares the exact same Jupiter Opposition with Uranus aspect that his father had too.

The other ‘take away’ from Charles’s Astrology, is how many Fixed influences he has – which is to say planets or positions in the signs of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius.

All these Signs prefer the status quo and can find routines comforting and change challenging.

King Charles III’s Coronation brings together – with quite exquisite astrological timing and in the most extraordinary of ways – a complex interweave between his outer public and inner private planetary domains.

At first glance, the outer world shows the timing of this event to be a high point in a long life of service, but also of public scrutiny. Why? Well, the moving Jupiter in the sky, the planet of benevolence, growth, optimism, fortune, spirituality and opportunity, aligns exactly with his Natal or Birth Moon position, in the sturdy and earthy sign of Taurus in the 10th House of ambition, acclaim and recognition.

This gorgeous combination is certainly one that is worthy of joyful celebration for the King himself.

The Moon is Exalted in Taurus (blessed by extra charm) and is boosted considerably by the fortitude of Jupiter. This creates an energy which will always be a marker of the personality of his reign – a generosity of spirit.

In his inner world, however, there is a huge paradox: Charles’s Progressed Moon has spent the last 29 months in Capricorn – a sign that it is notably weak in.

In this Progressed Moon he has also spent time in the 4th House of home, family and emotion, so heightening sensitivities still further.

He is also in close alignment with Pluto, the planet of change, so maximising evolution, secrets, power and leverage.

Pluto is an influence which is at the very root of the cycle of life. And during those long months, his father and mother have both died, and intense family politics have dominated the news headlines in what must have been, such a painful way.

But what makes this all more remarkable, is that these intense inner planetary influences of his Progressed or Evolved Chart, clash in a searing, jarring right angle with the outer, public Chart, based on his Birth.

Transiting Pluto squaring the Natal Moon, is one of the most profound planetary influences any person can possibly experience.

Very deep psychological energies can be stirred, and this can lead to a rebirth, or to a complex inner conflict. In the case of King Charles this may be between doing one’s duty, but also experiencing deep turmoil.

King Charles III is also going through another astrological influence which last occurred 29 years ago, Saturn Opposite Saturn.

The position of his Natal Uranus in a year's time suggests this may be a turbulent reign, thanks to the push for independence by some countries, his desire to reform the Monarchy itself, or at a more personal level. Pictured at the Opening of Parliament in 2017

Tremendous psychological pressures can be applied, particularly around the areas that the Moon governs such as the home, emotions and family life. This could be painful but transforming. Pictured: William, Charles and Harry at the Invictus Games in 2014

The moving Saturn in his 8th House of deep commitments, devotion, shared resources and legacies, suggests there can be some mighty contra energies tugging at his situation, not least to do with the public purse or managing the estate of his late mother.

Uranus, the planet of surprises, rebellion, higher truths and disruption, also dominates the 10th public House of his Chart and faces his Sun on two occasions this year, the 17th of July and on the 8th October 2023, and then again on the 1st May 2024.

This, and that his Progressed Midheaven (how he connects to the wider world) is currently in Gemini, will meet his Natal Uranus in a year’s time, suggesting this may be a turbulent reign, perhaps due in part to the push for Independence by some countries, perhaps more in his desire to reform the Monarchy itself, or at a more personal level.

However, as these energies peak, a need to be free could become profound.

Therefore, it would be of absolutely no surprise if in the early Summer of 2024, Charles made way for his son William.

Why? Well, the angles of his Progressed Chart (his inner Evolutionary Astrology) all return to the Cardinal Points, which are the four cornerstones of Western Tropical astrology.

As they do, so his Progressed Ascendant having dutifully battled through the sign of service Virgo, will emerge into Libra, and a need for inner peace and balance can become compelling, angled positively as it will be, ironically, by the moving Pluto located very early in Aquarius.

You may recall King Charles has his Natal Sun-Moon Mid-Point in Aquarius, and in June 2023, his Progressed Sun Moon Mid-Point will also return to the point it was when he was born, and a cycle completes, but one that could liberate him to enjoy the interests and speak out on the things that inspire him most of all – activism around community, ecological and environmental issues.

King Charles III Astrological Profile

King Charles III was born at 24 degrees Scorpio, located in the 4th House of home, family and emotion.

This is a very sensitive combination and at the core of his being. It is likely that this has given him a great need for personal privacy – something that being Royal has never made easy.

Charles’ Sun location is also very close to his Mother’s Midheaven, influencing how she ruled and how she connected to the wider world.

Also close to this important celestial marker, were the strict energies of Saturn.

Because of the 'turbulent reign' the astrologer said 'it would be of absolutely no surprise if in the early Summer of 2024, Charles made way for his son William'. Pictured: Prince William and King Charles at the committal service for Queen Elizabeth

So, for Charles, the first child, this combination must have created a great sense of reverence for the Queen’s formal role.

Conversely, Charles’ Moon is in his opposite Zodiac Sign of Taurus at 0 degrees, and therefore, in an exact Conjunction with his Mother’s Sun at 0 degrees Taurus.

This is an amazing piece of symmetry between them.

She, the Mother and protector; he, the child born to her on the very day his Moon aligns with her birth date and degree.

But it’s in the 10th House, and the Moon in the highly public 10th House for a Scorpio in the 4th House of privacy, is not an easy mix.

So we see that this most sensitive of people has had his emotional life played out in the public eye – which would have been particularly challenging for him when he was younger.

Charles’ Sun Moon Mid-Point is revelatory, as it’s in the 7th House of relating, but in the sign of Aquarius at 11 degrees.

Aquarius people can be far sighted, quirky, but also stubborn.

This position points towards Charles being a little bit detached around relationships, or being open to less conventional involvements.

Why? Well, a need for space (Aquarius) needs to co-exist with another for connection (the 7th House). A principled person at heart, however.

His Ascendant is in the Regal Leo and is very close to his mother’s Moon, another piece of family synchronicity.

All these Signs prefer the status quo and can find routines comforting and change challenging.
