  • The icon’s glittering WWE career saw him become a six-time world champion
  • He struck up rivalries with likes of Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque, Chyna and John Cena
  • Now he is fighting at All Elite Wrestling but fans are calling on him to retire

WWE legend Chris Jericho has slammed wrestling fans chanting for him to retire, telling them to ‘f*** off’ as he prepares to compete at the AEW All In at Wembley.

The 53-year-old made his World Wrestling Federation/Entertainment (WWE) debut in 1999 and is credited with helping to take the promotion into the new millennium.

He is known for his fierce rivalries with the likes of Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque, Chyna and John Cena in a memorable six-year stint at the WWE before making a series of comebacks.

He returned to the company in 2007 before departing once more in 2010 and then re-entering for another seven years in 2011.

Jericho currently fights in All Elite Wrestling (AEW) and has been one of the biggest draws for the promotion since its creation, becoming the first AEW World Champion in August 2019.

But he has since faced calls for him to retire with some even chanting songs with such a sentiment as they watch the wrestling icon fight.

Now Jericho has hit back at those demanding he hang up his boots in an interview with the Daily Star.

He said: ‘To me, when the ‘please retire’ chants were going, I was laughing because I have zero intentions of that. I’ve got a six-pack, I can do a moonsault, and I know exactly what I’m doing in the ring.

‘I know how to write storylines. I like the company I work for. Why would I want to retire? What’s the point… because someone told me to? F*** off.

‘Until that moment where I feel, “This needs to stop,” I have no intentions of retiring. There is no time limit. It could be this week. It could be 5 years from now.’

Jericho’s glittering career at the WWE saw him become a six-time world champion and one-time undisputed champion.

He also claimed three World Heavyweight Championships and a record nine Intercontinental titles.

Now at the AEW, the wrestling icon is looking to defend his FTW Championship against Tyler ‘Hook’ Senerchia on August 25.

In May, Jericho responded in brilliant style to calls for him to call it a day and made it clear that he will not be stepping back in the near future.

‘This is great. I know why you want me to retire… cause you know when I do, I’ll be inducted into every Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame in the world,’ Jericho told the crowd.

‘But I’m not ready for that yet… neither are you!’

In April, Jericho defeated Hook to become the new FTW Champion, adding more titles to what has been an illustrious career.
