Allison Spence (pictured), 44, of Queens, New York, was arrested for the manslaughter and unauthorised practice of a profession following the death of Latesha Bynum, 31
A fake nurse accused of helping a butt doctor whose bogus operation left a mother dead has been indicted for manslaughter.
Alison Spence, 44, waived her appearance in court but a Manhattan grand jury still handed up the charge.
Spence – from Queens – allegedly helped a bogus butt surgeon give Latesha Bynum silicone injections that led to the 31-year-old mother going into a coma from which she would never awake.
According to the New York Daily News, Bynum’s mother, 51-year-old Bertie, said her daughter was ‘murdered by this lady in here [Spence] and her little boyfriend’.
She added: ‘They got somebody in jail for my daughter’s murder and I’m going to be here every court date.
‘It’s hard. I guess time will heal. Right now, I’m still upset, you know?
The doctor who ran the phony Gramercy Park clinic is still being sought by cops.
He is accused of using a Dunkin’ Donuts outlet as his waiting room.
The man is alleged to have sent Spence there to meet clients and then bring them to an apartment for a procedure intended to increase the size and roundness of the buttocks.
Medics rushed Bynum to Mount Sinai St. Luke’s Medical Center after she became dizzy from her operation.
Ms Bynum (pictured) underwent the ‘butt-lift’ surgery – where silicone is injected into the patient’s buttocks to give a larger, rounder look – and called emergency services later with dizziness and chest pains. She passed out and was taken off life support a fortnight later
Doctors later declared her brain-dead and two weeks later she was taken off life support.
Spence’s sister, Lisa, 46, admitted that her sister had no medical qualifications, but claimed: ‘My sister just massaged the body muscles where got injected – she never injected nobody.’
Lisa suggested the blame should be entirely on the doctor, who Allison Spence dated as a teenager.
