Family of five targeted in Texas Roadhouse shooting

A masked gunman is on the run after opening fire on a family of five as they waited to be seated at a Texas steakhouse.

Police said a child and four adults were struck by gunfire on Sunday night while they were sitting on a bench outside a Texas Roadhouse in San Antonio.

The suspect fired multiple rounds from a handgun from outside before fleeing.

San Antonio Police Chief William McManus said the six-year-old boy was shot in the leg and is expected to survive, but two of his adult relatives are currently in hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The suspect hasn’t been identified and remains at large.  

Police say the shooting doesn’t appear to be random and that they believe it might be family related.

The victims were taken to hospital from the scene.

Authorities initially believed there were only three adult victims but later learned a fourth victim had driven himself to the hospital to be treated.  

The adult victims range in age from 22 to 50. 

KENS-TV reported that a semi-automatic handgun was used in the shooting and one of the bullets did hit the restaurant wall. 

The identities of the victims have not been released by authorities. 

Police said the suspect remains at large and that the shooting doesn’t appear to be random
