Family of Egyptian student, 18, who died after Nottingham bus stop assault arrive at court to see teenage girl gang sentenced over attack
The family of a teenage girl who died after a brutal street assault have arrived at court to see three attackers sentenced.
Egyptian student Mariam Moustafa, 18, suffered a stroke which left her in a coma after the attack in Nottingham on February 20 last year and died almost a month later on March 14.
Mariah Fraser, 19, Britania Hunter, 18, and a 16-year-old girl, admitted their part in the attack before Judge Gregory Dickinson QC on April 16. They will be sentenced today at Nottingham Crown Court.
Ms Moustafa’s family arrived at court today ahead of the hearing.

Mariam suffered a stroke 10 hours after the incident and died almost a month later
Ms Moustafa was punched several times during a confrontation with a group of women near a bus stop in Parliament Street at 8pm.
The teenager got on a bus at the scene near the Victoria Centre shopping precinct but was followed by the same group, who it is claimed were threatening and abusive towards her.
She was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre in the city and then transferred to Nottingham City Hospital where she was treated until her death.
Today’s court hearing comes after her father, Mohamed Moustafa said he was not informed of a hearing at which his daughter’s attackers admitted affray, describing it as ‘another failure in the case of our daughter’.
