Family’s agony as Glasgow mother-to-be is found dead in bed

A mother-to-be has died aged just 22, weeks after seeing the first scan of her unborn child.

Rosanna Sanderson was found dead at home in Glasgow by her mother Jacqueline on Sunday morning only hours after they spoke via text message.

The devastated family have paid tribute to the hairdresser, who was 14 weeks pregnant and due to give birth in March.

Mrs Sanderson said becoming a mother was ‘all her daughter wanted’ and she was expecting to find out the gender soon along with partner Oliver, 28.

She told the Daily Record: ‘She [Rosanna] was in her prime and said, ‘This baby is going to be the making of me’. She said, ‘This baby is going to make me feel complete’. She would’ve made the best mum ever.’

Mrs Sanderson said her daughter had complained of ‘pins and needles’ in her arms and legs in the text message but was otherwise fine.

She went to her home the next morning after friends and family said they had been unable to reach the hairdresser.

After getting no response and banging on the windows, she called Oliver and they discovered Rosanna dead in bed.

Speaking to the Record, she added: ‘The only comfort I have is to know she didn’t go alone and was with her baby.

‘My own mum passed away six years ago and I hope she was waiting for her on the other side.’

The baby would have been called Lilly if it was a girl and Oscar if it was a boy and Rosanna had bought big balloons for the reveal.

Her cause of death is still unknown and a post mortem is set to take place today.
