Famous Aussie is ‘trying to bury story they had gastric band surgery’

A high-profile Australian is scrambling to bury a story about how they lost so much weight recently.

The individual, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is rumoured to have undergone gastric band surgery to help shed the kilos.

However, they have publicly attributed their weight loss to diet and exercise.

The person has not been questioned publicly about the rumours, but insiders are convinced they had the surgery.

During interviews, their weight loss is either not mentioned at all, or is addressed with canned responses about dieting and exercise.

Articles about their weight loss have apparently sent their PR team into a panic. 

While the famous Aussie is understood to be happy with their weight loss, publicists are worried about them drawing too much attention to their changing body.

A gastric band is a band that’s placed around the stomach, creating a small pouch towards the top which takes less food to fill.

It is connected to a small device placed under the skin so the band can be tightened after surgery.

The band will usually be tightened for the first time about four to six weeks after surgery, and this is done by injecting the small device with salt water solution using a needle passed through your skin.

It will be tightened a few times to get to the ideal tightness.
