Footy fans have accused West Coast young gun Harley Reid of vaping while he was watching his girlfriend Yasmin Duursma make her AFLW debut for Carlton on Wednesday night.

Just a couple of days after winning Goal of the Year at his maiden Brownlow Medal count, the No.1 draft pick was spotted in the crowd at supporting his partner on Wednesday night at Ikon Park in Melbourne.

Sitting with Duursma’s family throughout the match, the 19-year-old superstar looked rather nervous at times and was spotted putting what some thought was a vape to his mouth. 

Several social media users jumped to the conclusion that he was engaging in the extremely unhealthy act.

‘Why is Harley Reid smoking a vape at the aflw game @WestCoastEagles wtf is going on here,’ posted one X user.

‘What flavour iget was it?’ wrote a second commenter, referring to a popular vape brand. 

‘I just texted the antisocial behaviour hotline to report Harley Reid for vaping,’ said another.

Other comments included, ‘Your boy is vaping?!?! Discraceful’, ‘Was that a vape?’, and, ‘Wow starboy Harley Reid vaping’. 

However, Reid currently has a splint on one of the fingers on his left hand, which gave the appearance that he was holding a vape pen when he put his fingers to his mouth.

The footy star had good reason to be worried for his girlfriend’s team as North Melbourne posted their biggest ever AFLW win with a 69-point victory.

Reid looked rather nervous at times and was spotted chewing his fingernails as Duursma’s side were thumped by the Kangaroos

The Kangaroos kicked the first nine goals of Wednesday night’s match on their way to an easy 12.7 (79) to 1.4 (10) victory.

It beat North Melbourne’s previous biggest win – a 66-point triumph over Sydney in round six, 2022.

The result lifted North Melbourne, with four wins and a draw from five matches, above Adelaide (4-0) into top spot on the ladder.

Duursma, the sister of  Essendon player Xavier Duursma and North Melbourne star  Zane, said she was excited to make her debut for the club.

‘I’ve had a lot of setbacks throughout the pre-season, so it’s exciting to be playing this week and making my debut for Carlton,’ she told Channel 7.

Rumours about Reid’s relationship with the Carlton AFLW star started to circulate back in March when the pair were spotted sharing a kiss.

The couple went public with the romance over Easter, with Duursma uploading a cheeky TikTok of the new couple.

Last week Duursma, who was childhood friends with Reid, opened up about the relationship.

‘We met when he was 12 and I was 13 and he and my brother have been friends ever since and so have Harley and I,’ she told News Corp.

‘So when I moved back home from Adelaide and it was on the cards we decided to give it a go, and start talking and dating.

‘Then it ended up he got drafted away to West Coast and moved over, but we thought we might give it a go and keep going.

‘It’s not really that hard to be honest, they play in Melbourne quite often so I see him a lot more than I thought I would, it’s been fun.’
