Fans are sympathetic of Jarrod Woodgate’s BRUTAL dumping

The ‘stage five clinger’ was never a favourite to win Bachelorette Sophie Monk’s heart.

But viewers couldn’t help but voice sympathy for runner-up Jarrod Woodgate after he was brutally dumped during Thursday’s finale.

Twitter went into meltdown, as the vineyard manager was reduced to a blubbering mess while walking along the beach alone and crying for an excruciating one minute and 20 seconds.

After the singer ended her short-lived romance with the distraught and tearful suitor, she admitted she was ‘an a**hole’ as he hung his head.

Jarrod had arrived full of confidence, but when he was the first to greet host Osher Günsberg, his fate as the undesirable runner-up was cemented as ominous music played.

However, it was his overly-emotional beachside-stroll departure that saw ‘poor Jarrod’ trend on Twitter in Australia.

‘Even though I joked about Jarrod pretty much the whole season, I genuinely feel so bad for him rn,’ one fan confessed.

Jarrod couldn’t contain his disappointment as his lively expression dropped and he wiped tears from his eyes after Sophie confessed her heart belonged to another.

He avoided eye contact with Sophie, sighing as he admitted: ‘Wow. I didn’t know what to think, coming into today, but I didn’t expect that.’

Composing himself, he sniffled and thanked Sophie for their short-lived romance.

‘Every moment we had together, all the memories and the journey that we’ve done and… ..no regrets whatsoever in any of this. You’ve just helped me become a better person in this whole journey, and… I thank you for that,’ he said.

A deflated Jarrod hung his head as he dramatically walked away from the beautiful blonde.

Former rival Luke McLeod even sent him a message of support: ‘Jarrod hold your head up mate. You put everything on the line and wore your heart on your sleeve all the time. Respect.’

Many Twitter users also cheekily suggests to put ‘pot plants out for Jarrod’ in a sign of support, referencing his ongoing witch-hunt for the rival who pi**ed in his ‘love’ plant he shared with Sophie.
