Fans felt Hakim Ziyech’s failure to celebrate his goal against Brighton pointed to problems in the Chelsea dressing room. 

The Moroccan winger was one of the players most widely criticised following Saturday’s defeat at Manchester City.

Ziyech, who was making only his eighth league start of the season, opened the scoring against the run of play in the 28th minute with a well-struck low drive from outside the box.

Ziyech was also involved in a heated exchange with Romelu Lukaku as they walked off at half-time.

Lukaku, who upset coach Thomas Tuchel by questioning his tactics, was unhappy after two passes went astray.
