As Liverpool supporters witnessed their side thrash Manchester City on Wednesday night, suggestions were made that Mohamed Salah even went to the extent of apologising to opposition defender Aymeric Laporte at half-time.
Reds fans watching at Anfield and from home would have revelled in their second successive win over the soon-to-be Premier League champions as Jurgen Klopp’s men took one massive step towards the Champions League semi-finals.
Salah scored the first of the night, before Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Sadio Mane swiftly followed, as Liverpool raced to a 3-0 half-time lead.

Supporters reacted on Twitter as the Egyptian exchanged words with Laporte at the break
It wouldn’t be the first time Salah has apologised after scoring. He did so to Watford goalkeeper Orestis Karnezis after hitting four past him last month.
Twitter was flooded with these suggestions from viewers, who alleged that Liverpool star Salah apologised to Laporte, who had been terrorised by his opponent throughout the first 45 minutes.
It was ‘savage’, according to one spectator, writing: ‘Mo Salah just uttered ‘I’m sorry’ to Aymeric Laporte as they went off for half-time. I’m sure intention wasn’t as such but that’s as savage as it gets. Liverpool have made City feel sorry in that half.’
The hashtag ‘pullyourpantsup’ was employed by another, who mocked City’s record signing. He wrote: ‘Did I just see Salah say sorry to Laporte on their way off?’

‘Salah just apologised to Laporte for giving him the toughest 45 minutes of his life. What a man what a player,’ another user wrote.
Judging by the sampled Tweets it would seem the apology was due as the Egyptian continued his incredible return to English football.
Salah’s goals took his competition tally to seven goals in nine appearances, adding to his 29 in the Premier League.
