Adidas have unveiled their new Predator 24 boots to a mixed reception from fans – with some complaining about a yellow strap across the bottom – with others said they were too pricy.

The iconic sportswear brand have a loyal fanbase when it comes to their popular boots, with youngsters and budding football fanatics always eager to follow in the footsteps of the firm’s biggest stars – including the likes of Lionel Messi, Mohamed Salah and Jude Bellingham.

Their latest creation was released on Tuesday, with Adidas heralding the new arrival – which will set fans back £230 for the premium edition – as ‘crafted for the generation of goalscorers’.

In a social media post, the manufacturer said: ‘Born from the iconic predator DNA… introducing Predator 24 – crafted for the generation of goal scorers. Available now.’

The boot is primarily black in the body, with white stripes down the side.

On the laces, fans who purchase the boot will see a red tongue and laces – but there’s an eye-catching detail that sets them aside.

On the inside of the boot – and on sections of the tongue – there is a neon yellow detail, as well as a big strap of the same yellow coming through the side of the boot and underneath the bottom.

The yellow strap was a huge bugbear for one fan, who called the feature ‘poxy’.

‘Just get rid of the poxy neon yellow,’ they wrote, alongside an angry emoji.

Another said that the boot was ‘almost perfect’ but was also unhappy with the yellow strap which dominates the look of the boot.

‘Dear @Adidasfootball,’ the tweet read. ‘You nearly done it. Almost the perfect boot. Then you f***** it with the yellow.’

One fan complained about the steep £230 price, saying it was ‘rough when they only last a year’.

There were others who were happy with what they saw, however, as some noted that the Adidas website crashed after the boots were released.

‘When it comes to football cleats, adidas >>>>’ wrote one supporter.

Another simply said: ‘Get in my basket!’

Fans who are unwilling to pay the top bracket price for the boots have the option of paying £130 for the more basic edition, which does not include the yellow strap. It also has a more simple red tonge with less neon yellow detail.
