A sexy new show which sees a group of highly-trained nuns shoot, kill and chase demons and corrupt clergymen has attracted a legion of fans who have dubbed it a cross between Buffy the Vampire Slayer and The Da Vinci Code.
Warrior Nun, which debuted last week on Netflix, features an international cast of actors and has quickly racked up dedicated viewers, becoming the number one trending show in the UK this weekend with many already begging for a season two.
Fans have praised the ten part show for it’s suspense, shocking plot twists, stunning scenery and nail-biting cliff-hanger, as well as swooning over the very glamorous cast.

‘Binged Warrior Nun over the weekend. Now just have to wait for season 2’ said another.
It tells the tale of Ava Silva, played by 22-year-old Alba Baptista, her English language debut having previously only performed roles in her native Portugal.
Ava is paralyzed and dies in the first episode, aged 19, after spending 12 years raised by nuns in a Catholic orphanage after a car crash killed her mother.
While her body lies in a church’s morgue, which is set amid the stunning mountains of Marbella, a divine artifact – which she later discovers is an angel’s halo – is embedded in her back, which brings her back to life and gives her the power to walk again.

As well as the use of her arms and legs, the halo also gives Ava superpowers that include being able to pass through walls, super strength and heal.
The newly-empowered woman soon learns she’s part of a 1000-year-old line of ‘Warrior Nuns’ who have held the halo and fought demons on earth.
As the chosen Warrior Nun., Ava is now the leader of the Order of the Cruciform Sword, a group who fight what they perceive as evil of earth, but end up brawling with powerful forces representing both heaven and hell who want to find and control her.
Also in the Order is Sister Lillith (left, Lorena Andrea) who believes she should be the bearer of the halo and is jealous of Ava. Other members of the order include Kristina Tonteri-Young as Sister Beatrice (right) who was sent to a Catholic boarding school by her British conservative politician parents
Reacting to the show on Twitter this weekend, many fans hope to see Beatrice (pictured) has a future romantic relationship with Ava, after many longing moments between the pair and built up tension throughout the series, with Beatrice strongly hinting she’s a lesbian

While the other nuns in the order took vows and pledged devotion to God, Ava’s unexpected new powers, coupled with an ability to walk means she’s initially more interested in thrill-seeking and meeting boys. She meets love interest JC (Emilio Sakraya, right) on the way – who is part of an international group of squatters who make the empty homes of the super rich their own for weeks at a time while travelling the world.
