Former reality stars Clare Hocking and Brad Jones have opened up about their lives together since they found love on Seven’s Farmer Wants a Wife two years ago.

The pair, who announced that they had welcomed their first child in December 2023, have now shared that they want to keep their son Roy out of the limelight.

The down-to-earth couple say they want to stay private despite their TV celebrity.

‘When I go to post something, I just think, would I care if I saw this picture of Roy in the local newspaper?’ Clare told Yahoo Lifestyle on Sunday.

‘Or would he care as a teenager if he saw a photo of him cuddling the dog or whatever?’ she continued.

‘I definitely am aware of not overdoing it and not putting him out there too much, but in saying that, it is just the nature of our lives now.’

The couple were responding to the fact that since their birth of their baby they have shared very few photos of him to their followers.

‘I feel like people did watch us from the start and did support us and offered us a lot of support and everything, so I do feel like people are really interested in Roy – and not just Roy, in our day-to-day lives too,’ Clare observed.

She added, ‘But in saying that, we live very boring lives.’

Since appearing on FWAW in 2023, the couple have bought a house together and are set to make a return to the dating show this season in a special ‘catch up’ segment.

Brad and Clare won fans as their romance blossomed during the 2023 season of Seven’s dating series.

And by July the same year, the pair announced that Clare was expecting.

Speaking to New Idea magazine at the time, the couple admitted their baby joy was a surprise

‘We didn’t think it would happen as quick as it did,’ Brad told the publication, adding: ‘We’re on the same page and just happy doing life together.’

Clare told the magazine her pregnancy has been smooth sailing for the most part, except for a bout of morning sickness and lethargy in her first trimester.

The couple previously spoke to New Idea magazine about their family plans, shortly after Claire had moved in with Brad on his rural property in Cootamundra, NSW.

Brad had described their relationship as ‘cruising along’.

He told the magazine that he and Clare had ‘discussed kids’ but weren’t rushing to ‘put a timeline on it’.

‘Whenever it happens, it happens. We’ll start with one [child] and see how we handle that I suppose!’ the farmer said.

Brad and Clare also confirmed they aren’t in any rush to get married either, however things may have changed since then.
