Fashion designer Natalie Rolt announces she is expecting her first child with husband Ty Couanis

Fashion designer Natalie Rolt has revealed she is expecting her first child with husband Ty Couanis.

The Perth-based designer, who owns the titular bridal and eveningwear label Natalie Rolt, made the announcement by surprising staff during a team meeting.

She shared a clip to TikTok which showed Natalie unveiling the label’s latest collection to the team—but she had some shock news none of them were expecting.

‘I’m excited for this collection because we have all the beautiful colours and all of the styles, but it is also the first collection that I’ll be pregnant with,’ she said.

The news was met with resounding gasps and cheers from all gathered, including Natalie’s grandmother Mimi.

The pair lovingly embraced as Mimi revealed she knew about the pregnancy two weeks before the announcement.

The post was met with an outpouring of congratulations from friends, fans and followers with one sharing that it was ‘the sweetest video ever’.

Natalie and husband Ty also took to Instagram recently to announce the impending arrival.

They posted a series of videos which showed them guessing their baby’s gender.

‘I dreamt it was a girl,’ Ty said in the clip. ‘What do you think?’

‘I’ve always envisioned girl, but I would love a boy,’ Natalie replied, holding the phone which contained the news in her hand.

The couple then eagerly looked at the mobile before Natalie shouted: ‘Male! It’s a boy!’

Laughing as they took the news in, Ty said: ‘We’ve got to change names and everything.’

Like the TikTok, this post was also met with a flurry of congratulations.

Perth influencer Gabi Cross offered: ‘Literally crying this is so special, I’m so happy for you guys.’

Former Big Brother contestant Minee Marx also jumped in with: ‘Beyond excited for you guys! Congratulations, he’s going to be one lucky boy!’

Natalie started her label in 2012 her creations have since popped up at a few high-profile weddings.

The label provided the bridesmaids dresses for the recent nuptials of Ruby Brownless and Josh Wallis. 

Tammy Hembrow’s sisters Emilee and Amy, as well as half-sisters Ava Olympia and Starlette Thynne also wore black strapless Natalie Rolt dresses for the fitness influencer’s wedding to Matt Zukowski.
