A father-of-one has died just eight weeks after being diagnosed with cancer to leave his pregnant wife to bring up their two-year-old daughter.
Lou Alexander, 32, had complained about having pan in his stomach earlier this year and underwent a number of tests.
Results indicated that he had colon cancer and that the disease had spread to his liver on July 25.
He was described as being a ‘gentle giant’ and the news of his death has shocked the community in Bristol.

His friend Hilary Rossborough set up a Just Giving page to raise £1,000 for his family, who ran a wine bar in Clifton.
The page has already raised more than £2,700 after she wrote the pair have a ‘beautiful two-year-old daughter’ together with another child due earlier next year.
She wrote online: ‘My very good friend Ines has sadly and very suddenly lost her husband, Lou, to cancer this morning.
‘They have a beautiful two year old daughter, Emily-Rose, and another little one who is due early next year.
‘I have set up this page (with Ines’ permission) so that friends, family and anyone who so wishes, can donate a little money that will go directly to Ines to alleviate some of the day to day financial stresses which are inevitable in this terribly sad situation.’
His wife Ines told the Bristol Post: ‘He was diagnosed with colon cancer, which had spread to his liver, on July 25.

‘This year, he complained of abdominal pain. He was going through his second cycle of chemotherapy and we were told he just needs a drain, as his lungs filled with water, and he’ll be better.’
However, earlier this week Lou took a turn for the worse and the cancer had spread faster.
His wife added: ‘He was a great man, with massive love for Bristol City.’
