The father of Robert Irwin’s new girlfriend Rorie Buckey has given the thumbs up to his daughter’s budding romance with the famous wildlife warrior.
Nathan Buckey, who runs a flooring business and is married to Heath Ledger’s sister Kate, confirmed his teenage daughter Rorie, 18, was in a relationship with Steve Irwin’s son when contacted by Daily Mail Australia and said the couple had his seal of approval.
The Perth business owner was reluctant to spill too much about the new romance, saying he ‘didn’t want to go into detail’.

However when asked if he approved of the relationship, Buckey said emphatically; ‘Of course, absolutely’.
‘But I’d prefer to leave it at that, thank you anyway.’
It comes almost three weeks after Rorie and Robert were spotted cuddling up on a beachside date in Queensland.
The young couple looked smitten as they enjoyed burgers and fries from a local Grill’d restaurant and looked out to the ocean.
More recently the pair were snapped dining at Brisbane’s trendy Hellenika.
The new relationship marks the coming-together of two of Australia’s most-famous families – both of whom have grappled with major tragedy.

Perth-based Rorie is the niece of acting legend Heath Ledger and daughter Heath Ledger’s sister Kate, who owns a design and media productions company.
Heath was at the top of his Hollywood career when he was found dead in January 2008 following an accidental prescription drug overdose.
Kate has since vowed to keep The Dark Knight star’s legacy alive by creating the Heath Ledger Scholarship for promising young Australian actors.
