Dennis Gandarilla (pictured) was dragged for four blocks by a SUV. He later died
A father-of-four has been dragged to his death by a car in the Bronx on Tuesday during a deal to buy an Armani jacket.
Dennis Gandarilla, 49, was meeting with another man at East 156th and Kelly streets to buy an Armani jacket at noon when he was hit by the maroon-colored SUV and dragged for four blocks.
Police say the suspect’s Jeep Grand Cherokee started accelerating, ultimately dragging Gandarilla who was near the passenger side of the car, according to DNA Info.
He clung to the side of the vehicle and was pulled along for four blocks by the driver who is being described by police as a 40-year-old man.
The father-of-four was taken to Lincoln Hospital but died.
Police said the unidentified driver drove north on Prospect Avenue before fleeing.
Meanwhile, his son has said he wants to avenge his father. He claims his dad had been delivering food to a homeless shelter and it was a hit-and-run situation.
‘If they don’t find him, trust me, I will,’ said 21-year-old Christian Delgado, reported the Daily News.
‘He was actually finishing his job delivering food at a shelter,’ Delgado said. ‘He was walking home when the van hit him.’
‘He was a family man, close to his family,’ Delgado said. ‘He was a good father. He was funny, outgoing, understanding. He didn’t deserve this.’

‘If I was there, the person driving the car wouldn’t be living.’
When asked how his mother, Clarissa Castillo, is coping with the situation he said: ‘She’s not doing well.’
She said: ‘He was a family man, Dennis he was loving. He was all about the family,’ reported CBS.
She begged that people help the cops with this situation: ‘Please if anybody has any information about my husband just call the cops and let them know. Any information is so grateful.’
Police released the street surveillance video of the maroon Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV being sought in the investigation.
