A highly skilled dad created a fully functioning, superhero-themed remote-controlled truck for his son – using an old mobility scooter.
Dan Hull, 45, from the Midlands, set about working on the project two years ago with the idea of converting the £200 mobility scooter into an Eddie Stobart lookalike truck.
Alfie, three, now has a full working remote controlled vehicle that measures in at 21ft and 200kg with a top speed of 7mph and features an AH logo – standing for Alfie Hull.

The machine also comes complete with a trailer on the back made out of old recycled household objects which was built from scratch during lockdown.
Dan, a courier and qualified electrician, said: ‘I’ve always been into building stuff and I had my heart set on building something my son could drive.
‘He became interested in lorries, so naturally I thought I would go out and buy a mobility scooter and set about the project.
‘The truck is fully radio-controlled and goes at about 7mph. Alfie tends to sit inside and I sit on the trailer, which I built during lockdown. I have full control over it as it’s too heavy and big for Alfie to drive just yet.’

Alfie has already been using the truck during trips to the local park during lockdown
The vehicle is a 1/3 semi scale full RC Eddie Stobart Lorry and made from mostly 3 and 6mm mdf with Adhesive pva and mitre mate.
Dan had previously built a Series One Land Rover for his son’s first birthday and is now planning a 125cc monster truck made from one quad bike and a 125cc Yamaha moped.
He added: ‘He loves it and as soon as I get the truck out he wants to drive it everywhere.
‘It stops traffic and people ask about it all the time.
‘I even had one man say he came here especially to have a look at it.
‘Building is my hobby. I got it from my dad and I hope that one day I can pass that down to Alfie.
‘I’m currently building a monster truck, which is going to be big enough for us both to get in, using a motorbike engine and an old quad bike.’
