After a 1-1 draw in their home leg last week, Ange Postecoglou’s side had it all to do in Denmark but they had one foot in the third qualifying round shortly after half-time thanks to Callum McGregor’s sensational volley.
A Celtic corner was cleared as far as the midfielder, who controlled the ball on his chest before hitting a shot first-time in the top right corner.
Awer Mabil pulled the home side level when he headed home Sisto’s looping cross beyond Celtic goalkeeper Scott Bain.
And the Danes found the all-important goal in extra-time. Raphael Nwadike fired a close range finish into the back of the net with the Hoops unable to find a reply.
