- Last week a train derailed causing disruption to services at London Waterloo
A passenger train has derailed at Paddington station in London causing disruption to services for the second time at a station in the capital in just under a week.
The rear car of a Great Western Railway (GWR) train came off the track at 11:57am today, just as it was leaving for Penzance in Cornwall.
A GWR spokesperson said the train was ‘travelling at extremely low speed’ and passengers were quickly transferred to another service. No injuries were reported.
Platforms one and two are currently out of use but the majority of trains have returned to their scheduled timetables.

The scene at Waterloo Station, London, after a South West Trains passenger service collided with a Network Rail engineering wagon on Tuesday, August 15
Fears of transport chaos remain after last Tuesday a South West train derailed at London Waterloo causing major delays to commuters using Britain’s busiest railway station.
No passengers were injured in the incident, nor the other that occurred that same day when a train hit buffers at platform nine at King’s Cross.
Last year a GWR passenger train derailed at London Paddington and limited services ran for nearly a day. The Heathrow Connect service, for instance, did not run. The site currently reports the airport connection service to be running as normal.
Disruption by the closure of two platforms at London Paddington last month created fury by passengers who experienced significant delays to their journeys.
But National Rail has insisted that this latest incident will not cause major disruption.
On Twitter they said: ‘This isn’t really affecting services at all. Very minor delays if any at all.’
