Femail share pictures of cats sitting in weird positions

  • Owners have shared photos of their beloved cats cute ways of sitting
  • Many recline with their hind legs spreadeagled in a human-like fashion
  • One grey cat’s unique pose resembles a runner on the starting blocks

Cats are notoriously independent creatures, and it seems that even when it comes to the way they sit, some simply refuse to follow the herd.

Animal lovers around the world have been sharing adorable snaps of their pets reclining in the quirkiest positions – including one who likes to straddle the back of the sofa, and another whose pose resembles that of a runner on the starting blocks.

Other photos capture cats with their hind legs spreadeagled in a startlingly human-like fashion.

Here, FEMAIL shares some of the cutest examples of cats kicking back everywhere from the bathroom sink to a paper tray.
