Female e-scooter rider, 19, DIES after colliding with a car and getting thrown across the intersection – as cops reveal she wasn’t wearing a helmet

A 19-year-old woman has died after being thrown across an intersection when her e-scooter collided with a car. 

Emergency services were called to the corner of Drakeford Drive and O’Halloran Circuit in Kambah, Canberra, at about 3.10pm on Sunday following reports of a scooter and car accident. 

Police said the female scooter rider was not wearing a helmet when she smashed into the car.

She was thrown a ‘substantial distance’ across the intersection. 

The young woman’s belongings were left strewn across the road as she was rushed to The Canberra Hospital with serious head and leg injuries.

ACT Policing’s Major Collision Team are investigating the crash and will pass on their findings to the
