Radio personality Ray Hadley, who said he had spoken to the police union, revealed the sickening details of the alleged assault on his 2GB morning show.

‘The allegation is, and it’s on the charge sheet apparently, the alleged offender grabbed this officer by the hair,’ a police union spokesperson told Mr Hadley.

‘She was actually taking him a cup of tea in the cell.

‘He grabbed her ears and pulled her head down by the ears kneeing her in the face and then punched her in the face a number of times, allegedly, if you’ve seen the photo her nose is spread across her face.’

When other officers attempted to intervene, the man allegedly tried to run from the station but was quickly detained.

The officer, who sustained a broken nose during the alleged attack, had to be taken to the Wyong Hospital for treatment including stitches.
