Fergie spotted after Eugenie’s engagement announcement

She has proven herself to be one of the world’s proudest mums, often joining her daughters Beatrice and Eugenie on nights out in London.

However, it seems that Sarah Ferguson was snubbed from her youngest’s guest list last night.

The Duchess of York was seen leaving a club in Mayfair alone on Tuesday evening while her newly engaged daughter Princess Eugenie enjoyed a dinner just metres away.

Sarah Ferguson was seen for the first time since Princess Eugenie’s engagement was announced, leaving Mayfair members club Lou Lou’s on Tuesday

Sarah, affectionately known as Fergie, had enjoyed a night out at members club Lou Lou’s on Hertford Street while Eugenie dined at George restaurant, just a five minute walk away.

The mother-of-two appeared to be in good spirits as she made her way home on Wednesday evening, likely due to her daughter’s good news which was announced on Monday.

The ex-wife of Prince Andrew looked chic in a black A-line dress adding a pop of colour in the form of a baby pink blazer.

Known to favour a flat shoe the 58-year-old opted for a pair of chic velvet slippers with a cactus motif from French Sole.

This may be the first time we have seen Fergie since her daughter’s engagement was announced, but she has certainly made her presence known.

The proud mother took to Twitter shortly after the news broke to share her very gushing congratulations with the world.

The messages from Sarah featured photographs of the couple accompanied by captions in which she described Jack Brooksbank, as her ‘son, brother and best friend’ and a ‘solid rock’.

Fergie’s first tweet in the morning was accompanied by two smiley emojis.

It read: ‘a total embrace of goodness AND JOY, we love jack and I AM SO EXCITED to have a son, a brother and a best friend, eugenie is one of the finest people I know and so together it will BE PURE HARMONY’ #total joy #engagement @TheDukeOfYork.’

A second, showing the couple in a speedboat on holiday, read: ‘They float with laughter and love… although a boat helps! #engagement #eugieandjack.’

In the third, accompanied by two balloon emojis, Fergie wrote: ‘I always say that the river flows well to it’s [sic] destiny because of the guidance of a solid rock.’

Fergie’s so excited that her capital letters, punctuation and grammar have gone haywire. ‘They make laughter, and we feel the joy...  thank you for the magic, Jack and Eugie. So proud of you,’ she wrote over a picture of the couple laughing together

In the evening, the duchess posted another picture of the pair with the words: ‘They make laughter and we feel the joy. Thank you for the magic, Jack and Eugie, so proud of you’, followed by an image of the pair larking around in a garden.

This isn’t the first time the proud royal has publicly showered her daughters with affection.

In 2011 she was spotted in New York carrying a bespoke Anya Hindmarch tote with a black and white photo of the princesses when they were teenagers.

This became something of a trend for the flame-haired Duchess who in 2015 stepped out of a car carrying another bag but plastered with a baby photo of Eugenie and Beatrice.

And in a 2017 interview she gushed about her daughters once again, saying: ‘I think the one thing I’ve done incredibly well – although I say it myself – is that I’m a really good mum. And I think that my girls show that.’
