Fiji 33-7 Team GB: Dominant defending Olympic champions run in FIVE tries in final Group B game with both sides already qualified for quarter-finals in Tokyo having reached final at Games five years ago in Rio
Defending Olympic rugby sevens champions Fiji delivered a stunning display to ensure Team GB’s Tokyo Olympics group stage ended in a crushing 33-7 defeat.
Fiji wasted no time in imposing their game in the repeat of the final at 2016 Olympics in Rio, scoring their first try inside two minutes through Asaeli Tuivuaka.
GB were then handed another wake-up call when Sireli Maqala doubled Fiji’s lead after bursting through the middle of the opposition defence, with the try this time converted to hand the defending champions at 12-0 lead.

Fiji then further demonstrated the pace and power within their lineup as they ended the first half with another score from Jiuta Wainiqolo, who handed off Dan Norton before racing over the whitewash after a sprint from the halfway line.
Team GB struggled at the beginning of the second half and Tuivuaka eventually took advantage of a loose ball to score under the posts unopposed in another converted score.
Ben Harris got Team GB on the scoreboard by scoring a try of his own but it would be the defending champions who ended with a flourish, as Aminiasi Tuimaba completed the thrashing.
