Four people have reportedly been injured after their plane was hit with severe turbulence during a flight from Australia to Fiji.

Fiji Airways flight FJ910 was heading to Nadi, a city on Fiji’s main island, from Sydney on Wednesday night when it was struck with turbulence.

Four people, including one passenger and three cabin crew, were injured in the ordeal, the Fiji Times reported.

The injured passenger and crew members were met and treated by medical staff once the plane arrived at the airport.

‘We regret that one guest and three cabin crew members sustained minor injuries as a result,’ Fiji Airways said in a statement, according to the Fiji Times.

‘The flight was met on arrival in Nadi by medical staff, and assistance was provided to all those affected.

‘Fiji Airways takes the safety and well-being of its guests and crew very seriously and regrets the occurrence of this event.’

It comes after Fiji Airways joined the Oneworld alliance this week, making it the fourteenth member of the global airline group.
