Finance guru Queenie Tan, from Sydney, reveals how to use Google Lens to save money on your shopping

A finance queen has shared how you know you’re getting the cheapest price on your shopping with the help one a simple hack on your smartphone. 

Queenie Tan, from Sydney, showed how you can use Google to scan a product’s barcode and see how much it costs at other stores in a video posted to her popular Instagram and TikTok pages. 

At just 25 years old, Queenie has a net worth of more than $500,000 and has developed a combined following on social media of 215,200 for her handy money-saving hacks. 

In the clip, she said while you’re doing your shopping, you can use Google Lens to compare the price of any product to make sure you’re getting the best deal available.

‘Just open the Google app and click on the camera icon then when you scan a barcode it will bring up a list of the same items at different shops so you can easily compare the prices,’ Queenie said. 

‘The idea is you can price match or price beat in store at some shops. It works WAY better with barcodes than price tags,’ she added.

Queenie’s clever shopping hack wowed many of her fans and drew in dozes of impressed comments. 

‘Wow, this is game changing! Thanks,’ one wrote and another asked: ‘How did I not know this?’. 

‘You might even try to do it at a store that doesn’t publicise their price match. You never know! They might agree!’ a third suggested. 

This isn’t the first time Queenie has shared a trick to save shoppers money on essentials.

In a previous video, she shocked thousands after revealing an unlikely store sells cheap cleaning products.

Queenie said she had no idea Chemist Warehouse sells cleaning buys until a housekeeper brought it to her attention.

The Australian retail chain is known for selling perfumes, skincare, vitamins and cosmetics at a discounted rate – but many were unaware cleaning products are also available. 

After visiting her local store, Queenie noticed common products were cheaper compared to supermarkets.

 ‘Did you know you can buy CHEAP cleaning products from Chemist Warehouse? I didn’t even know Chemist Warehouse sold cleaning products until a housekeeper told me, so I had to check it out!’ she said in the clip. 

To her surprise, dishwashing detergent was 30 per cent cheaper than the supermarket and a duster was 25 per cent cheaper. 

‘They even sell dish sponges, dishwashing tablets and heaps of other things,’ she said. 

It appears cleaning products aren’t listed among the top categories on the Chemist Warehouse website, but can be found by using the ‘search’ tab.

After 24 hours the TikTok video was viewed more than 19,000 times. 

‘Omg I did not know this!!’ one person wrote, another added: ‘Never knew this! Will drop by at Chemist Warehouse after work.’ 

A third wrote: ‘And they have very very good cheap tissues! I started buying them there instead of at the shops.’ 

Others said they shop at Bunnings Warehouse to buy cleaning items ‘in bulk’ at a discounted rate.
