Fire in south China kills 18, injures 5; could be arson

Eighteen people have been killed and five injured in a fire at a karaoke bar in China.

Police were called to the fire in Qingyuan City, Guangdong at 12.30am local time on Tuesday. 

Fire, health and police departments sent rescuers to the site. The fire was put out at 12.55am.

Police said the fire was caused by arson and that authorities were stepping up investigations.
