Rebel Wilson is about to release her first children’s book.
In the sneak peek of Bella the Brave, supplied to Daily Mail Australia, illustrations of the lead character bear a striking resemblance to a young Rebel.
Wilson, 41, has previously revealed the book is about lessons she learned ‘from being a shy girl growing up in Sydney’s western suburbs to becoming an international movie star’.

The first page of the book shows Bella in class, along with the lines, ‘Bella was shy, to the point that she’d cry. When invited to a party, she’d often lie.’
Another line hinted at her future as an onscreen funny lady, when she wrote, ‘She must’ve seemed very boring, she was no comedienne.’
The actress made her name with memorable comic appearances in films such as Bridesmaids and Pitch Perfect.
Rebel’s book, which is illustrated by Annabel Tempest, is available to buy from October 27.

Wilson first showed fans the soon-to-be-released children’s book last month.
The actress shared a video filmed in her home to Instagram, in which she enjoyed a breakfast smoothie while opening a parcel.
She proudly unwrapped a copy of the tome, called Bella the Brave, with a pink cover.

The Isn’t It Romantic star explained in her caption that the story was inspired by her own struggles with shyness.
‘OMG just received a very special delivery! This is a very limited run of my first ever children’s book BELLA THE BRAVE’ she wrote.
‘This is a book for ages 3+ [and] based on my childhood. This first book is about overcoming shyness. Can’t wait for you guys to meet Bella’.

The star recently announced that she was going to be taking a break to focus on a film she has written that will go into production next year.
Sharing a photo of herself dressed up as a mermaid, Rebel wrote: ‘I feel like turning 40, I’ve weathered a lot of storms in my life (malaria, being kidnapped, being bullied, fertility struggles, emotional eating, overcoming shyness, having no money) but somehow I’ve managed to thrive, to find my inner ‘siren’.
‘I encourage everyone out there to seek their inner ‘siren’ – it’s not about looking a certain way or being a certain size, it’s about embracing your unique beauty, loving yourself, finding your purpose and then feeling yourself to the MAX!’
