Fitness blogger says trolls have likened her body to schoolboy’s after breast implant removal

A fitness blogger who had her breast implants removed has told how she was targeted by cruel trolls who likened her body to that of a ‘young boy’.

Sia Cooper, originally from Mississippi but now living in Florida, first went under the knife in October 2011 to boost her self-confidence after losing weight left her with small breasts.

But over the next seven years the mother-of-two, who is behind the blog Diary of a Fit Mommy, struggled with extreme fatigue, facial rashes, chest pain, brain fog and even hair loss.

Believing it was down to her implants, she had breast explant surgery in December last year and claims her skin rashes have since cleared up, she’s lost weight and has more energy.

Sia claims she now feels happier and more confident than ever – but earlier this week she was ‘attacked’ by a man online who slated her ‘flat chest’.

Writing on Instagram, she said: ‘Since removing my breast implants last year, I haven’t had much negativity, until this particular person.

‘He told me that flat chests were meant for middle school and that a real woman had a “grown up body”. Oof.’

When Sia blocked him, she said he went on his other social media accounts to continue trolling her, telling her that her body ‘looked like that of a young boy’.

She shared a screengrab of the comment made by the man, which read: ‘Flat chests are more of a middle school thing, unless you like middle school chests your gonna want a woman with a grown up body… and women are gonna want to keep their breasts because it literally makes them look and feel sexier (sic).’

In response, Sia wrote: ‘You know what? My body and my natural breasts are not here for YOUR entertainment.

‘If you’re a man and you’re here for this reason-you’re barking up the wrong tree. There are plenty of other accounts out there for you to follow for T&A.

‘Men like you are the reason why I felt pressured into getting breast implants in the first place when I was perfectly fine to begin with.

‘Now, I don’t give a damn how small my breasts are because at the end of the day, I’ve been at both ends of the spectrum and I have never been happier to go back “small”.

‘I’ve never felt more confident or sexy than I do now – naturally. I don’t need perfect breasts to please anyone – it’s far from my list of goals.’

She added that she did not need big boobs to be ‘happy or feminine’, explaining she has reached a point in her life where she’s got ‘more important things to worry about’.

‘I am living MY best life. Emphasis on MY,’ she added. ‘Direct your attention to better things in life. Looks fade, confidence won’t.’

Sia received an outpouring of support from her 1.2million followers, with many praising her for speaking out.

One commented: ‘Thank you so much for standing up for this. It means a lot as a young woman who faces the same comments.’

Another wrote: ‘We need more role models like you in the world for the younger generation,’ while one added: ‘Interesting that he’s trying to speak on behalf of all women.

‘You look great! Shout out to you for not letting the haters stop you from doing your thang!’

Although there is no clear scientific evidence that there is an association between implants and autoimmune disorders or other systemic illnesses, there are many women who insist their implants have caused them to become sick.

Then and now: Sia opted to get 400 cc silicon gel implants

Sia, who claims she was encouraged by her ex-husband to get implants, previously told how she could barely make it out of bed most days, noting that she had also been experiencing headaches and weight gain.

‘Needless to say, I haven’t felt like myself. My world’s been turned upside down very slowly, and that is why I am considering taking out my implants,’ she said in a video last year.

She went back to her daily life, but a few years later, she noticed her anxiety and depression had increased.

She was also getting tired more often, but as a first-time mom, she chalked it up to being a new parent. Although she had blood tests to check her iron, everything always came back normal.

More recently she began suffering mood swings and headaches, her hair fell out in clumps, and she would sleep for 12 hours a day and still wake up exhausted.

The FDA does not recognize breast implant illness as a diagnosis but, on its website, urges doctors to not dismiss patient concerns until ‘much larger and longer’ studies are conducted.

Sia, who is now a 32C, said she wishes she’d asked more questions before her augmentation and encourages other women to do so before getting implants.
